Set sail with us on an endeavour through magical spaces, design collaborations, gallivanting to near and faraway places, with a big dose of how-to knowledge and ideas to inspire your interiors.
Earlier this year, we popped down to Tasmania to visit Lumière Lodge, a beautifully restored late 19th century townhouse (and Airbnb) in the foothills of West Hobart, to create a design disturbance with The Society inc’s latest range of hardware & homewares. Read on to find out a little about how it went...
In late summer, The Society inc. travelled down to Tasmania for a whirlwind weeklong tour to create disturbances at some of the island’s most picturesque locations. We arrived at Piermont, on the beautiful Freycinet Coast near Swansea, bags bursting with our latest hardware collection, to see what magic and mischief we could create…
Delicately turned with airy curves, Sibella Court's new brass & nickel hooks and drawer pulls for The Society inc. hark back to the jewellery-like hardware that adorned golden age Paris
Embodying casual, everyday opulence, our new drawer pulls & hooks are available in both a luxe aged nickel finish & beautiful brass
The Society inc created a little disturbance at Bismarck House, showcasing how you can weave in hand-crafted hardware & homegoods in a contemporary home to add that extra layering of character & texture
I always craft my travel around a particular theme, and my last trip to Paris focused on exploring the wonderfully idiosyncratic little museums you can find hidden away behind the grand doors of 18th and 19th century mansions and hôtel particulier dotted throughout the city. Generously bequeathed to the state, or privately run, these jewel-box museums are like precious time capsules of the Paris of a bygone era.
If you’re visiting for the Maison & Objet fair from January 19 to 23, and you want to avoid the well-trodden paths of the big Parisian tourist haunts, here’s some inspiration on a few of my favourite little treasure troves to take in while you’re in town.
I dream of late afternoon snorkels, sunrise sand jogs, long lunches, cooking with friends, spending the day painting, reading and drifting off to sleep in the warmth of the sun. So this year, I found a house that I imagine doing all of these things in. My dear friend and photographer; William Meppem, lent me his estate, "Heaven on Kevin", a small cottage, with a massive deck complete for entertaining. Located in Avalon, just north of Sydney.
The Pullman Collection curated by Sibella Court is a luxe offering of aged nickel hardware & homegoods available to purchase at The Society Inc
This week is all about the Bed in my Rigg Bring Home the Look series. I see this zone as a place to rest, sleep or read as presented by the mix-use You & Me Isola bed from Hub Furniture. Piled high with cushions, covered in cosy textiles and with a natural finish bedside Gravity table by Toby Jones, this zone invites you to take a break with the watchful guardian that is Anna-Wili Highfield's Owl sculpture.
