Located in a beautiful remote pocket of northwestern NT close to the WA border lies Bullo River Station. Whilst a working cattle station, it offers an elevated homestead stay that compliments the magnificent landscape and activities around the 500,000 acre property. In 2017 I stepped in to refurnish the guest rooms and guest breezeway, the first stage of the station’s new chapter followed by the outdoor living spaces, landscaping , staff camp and much much more as we continue to work on this exceptional property in collaboration with DFJ (Architects) and Alex Peterson (Landscaping) embracing undone Australian luxury

The heritage precinct of Longs Lane is a cluster of historical shops, boutique accomodation and houses in The Rocks dating from 1855-1914, including the Butchers Shop built in 1881-1882. The interior redesign by Sibella Court was informed by the building's various uses from the 1880s, notably a shoppe and dwelling rented by German butcher Kellas Watson.

Over the last couple of years I have had the honour of working with architects, Durbach Block Jaggers on this incredible home in Sydney. Our insightful clients had the idea to team up me (the maximalist) with Neil & the DBJ team (the minimalists) and we had a cracking time. The result was featured in Vogue Living’s ‘Australian Made’ Issue May/June 2021 with my brother Chris Court’s photography.

The accommodation spills over 3 levels offering a choice of 9 rooms, a boutique experience where each room is different with a spectacular view over Sydney’s skyline. This is where the past meets the present, where each room is named after a local character from the Rocks’ layered past: Arnt Andersen, Alice Musket, Sydney Long, Surgeon White amongst others. Materials are a mix of old and new shapes, found & foraged but with all the necessary mod cons and the beauty of Australian-made products from blankets to furniture to custom paint colours from The Society inc by Murobond range.

I went on a wild research adventure discovering Sydney in the early part of the century. I have always been naturally fascinated by Australian history (I have a history degree from Sydney University) and it went perfectly in hand with researching the area for Palmer & Co. which I co-designed with the talented Kelvin Ho of Akin Creative (and of course Justin Hemmes).
