Styling with Curtain Rods

Curtain rods can be styled in a multitude of ways and can go beyond their primary use as window treatments . They can be used to display works of art, hold towels after a long beach day & even hang lights or lamps for ambience.

As the cooler months come around , it's natural to look for ways to make your home cosy for the winter months. The Earnest rods are ideal to hang over doorways and create vestibules to not only stop the pesky drafts but soften & warm up any interior.

The Importance of Being Earnest is one of my favourite plays. There's such an honesty and steadfastness to the name, it felt fitting for a curtain rod of similar character to bear such a moniker. And any opportunity to reference Oscar Wilde!

It seemed only right to continue the nod to Oscar Wilde’s play by naming our curtain rings Cecily, the accompaniment to our curtain rails. Cecily is meant to be with Earnest after all!

Our rod components are made in brass, the fixings are sand cast and the rod is hand shaped.

These are staple in any interior where the hardware begs to be exposed and on show.
To complete the story, we have had curtain rings hand smithed in brass and black to be sewn on to your curtain fabric and threaded onto the rod.

They are very versatile and can be purposed for art hanging systems, towels racks, hand rails, ballet barres, shower curtain rails, shop display, for large pot & utensil storage and anything else you can dream up.
To create the hanging system for your artworks (as per photographs) you can team up with our Petrel chain, Butchers S hooks, Cecily rings and/or Trouvé clips

Solid brass products are suitable to be used in wet & humid environments like bathrooms & outdoor showers. Using brass products in wet environments or outdoors you will notice the finishing sealer wears down and the brass will begin to patina & change. We embrace the changing surface of this wonderful & time honoured metal.

This miniature house provides all of the nuances of boat building within its own minute space. Situated amongst the quintessential Sydney landscape of emerald green water and unique sandstone structures - surrounded by angophora gums.

With the extension of the dinghy & direct entrance to the water, this house evolves into an explorative landscape that extends beyond its petite footprint. If I were to create the ideal boathouse... This would be it.
