The Stylist's Guide to Byron Bay | Watego's Beach

My favourite place in the world to recharge is at Watego’s Beach, Byron Bay.

We have a humble 1960's beach shack meets tree house which is the perfect nostalgic folly to take you back in time to when Byron Bay was all about Country Soul & surfing. And we are renting it out on Airbnb!!

It's 26 degrees at the moment at noon then nice and cool at night perfect to spark up the pot belly AND it's the beginning of the whales migrating North! Our house is two stories, situated underneath the majestic Cape Byron Lighthouse with panoramic views over Watego’s Beach to Julian Rocks. From the balcony you can watch the dolphins' daily visits and scan the bay for whales.

We are a stone's throw from the beach & start of the lighthouse walk but BEST of all there is a full quiver of McTavish surfboards & SUPS to test out. Watego’s have the perfect lazy long board wave that is perfect for the die-hard surfer and beginners.

We have all the mod cons, a full kitchen, laundry facilities, BBQ, cable TV, internet and plenty of parking onsite. All you need is your board shorts & clothes and we provide everything else.

It will reset you into the rhythm and awe of nature. I went in late April when the Tanglefoot Fagus, an endemic deciduous beech endemic to the Tassie highlands  leaves were turning and littered the track like orange & yellow snowflakes.
