The Stylist’s Guide to Sydney | Vaucluse House
One of my favourite places to explore in Sydney is Vaucluse House. When it was bought in 1827 by William Charles Wentworth it was a humble stone cottage but with his additions to the estate including a stable, coach house and servants quarters, Vaucluse House is now a beautiful example of a 19th century mansion with its original gardens & wooded grounds.
The interiors are beautifully restored & my favourite is the kitchens & staff quarters. The Victorian kitchen garden has been lovingly restored with heirloom produce & its very own bees. Set aside some time to have high tea in the tearooms where produce from the garden is used then wander down to Neilson Park for some afternoon swimming and imagine what it would have been like when the Wentworth’s lived here.
