I have a particular fondness for ikats with their bold patterns and vibrant colours, which emerge from yarn that is pre-dyed before being woven. As a source of inspiration for my interiors, ikats transport me to the buzzing bazaars in faraway lands, travelling the merchants’ routes along the old Silk Road and traders selling their wares of velvet jackets, embroidered suzanis and magnificent ikat jackets.
