The plated layer & sealer will provide corrosive resistance. We do not recommend using plated items in fully wet areas or outdoors. For our plated knocker styles, undercover out of rain exposure is best. If you do wish to use a plated style outside, please know that over time patina & rust inherent to the base metal of iron is likely to occur. Like a barnacle encrusted seashell we agree there can be beauty in this as well! If a steadfast water resistant outcome is more your cup of tea, we would steer you towards our solid brass styles.
