Zinc pieces

Zinc has to be one of my favourite materials. It is a material that is totally unique to look at and to touch. The name itself comes from the German word for “spiked”, because zinc in its natural form is brilliant spiky crystals. I keep coming back to zinc and I’ve used it most recently in the Tick Tock Toilet Roll Holder – the perfect metal encasement to disguise the toilet paper roll, etched with my favourite motto “Become a Pirate”. The aged brass bolt & screws are the perfect complement to the zinc surface and, together, both materials will age to form a beautiful patina and tell a story – the greatest honour for a humble object.
