Jagger
The seaside has called me ever since I was small. The sun, the salt, the sand and the shells are just a hint of what I love about a visit to the ocean and I'm always likely to order the fish or a bucket of fresh prawns from the menu. Believe it or not, a jagger was actually the name of early fish peddlars, despite the word's now-musical connotations. While I'm sure this profession was not very glamourous, it's easy to imagine a jagger living quite an idyllic life that perhaps involved a shack on a the cliffs, with starts at dawn to meet with the local fisherman and inspect the catch before setting up shop. I'm sure the true jagger would have been a no-nonsense type, but putting myself in his shoes, I would find it hard to overlook the fish with the most beautiful scales, but that's just me.
