I inherited a very plain kitchen, & although the materials used where not to my taste, they provided a great backdrop and I was able to manipulate and layer the space to cater to my cooking needs & lifestyle.

I first addressed the hardware and layered the space with a hardware story that suited the cupboard sizes & uses as well as being a part of my larger design intent for the space.
With the addition of my new Liebherr fridge, I removed some cupboards to replace them with some magnificent vintage French ones that were on hand at The Society inc shop.
I finished my mini makeover off by designing a central island crafted by my clever husband from salvaged Baltic pine and Blackbutt.
And voilà, a personal tactile kitchen that reflects me, my family & how we like to live!
