As we continue to explore the world of fragrances and revisit globetrotting adventures through scent, the promise of Summer that the shift in weather brings this time of year has me thinking of Mexico City, another port of call I made during the making of Nomad.
It is the memory of cycling around brightly coloured streets in one of the oldest cities of the Americas, with the warm summer sun bearing down, whizzing past painted walls in radiant greens and yellows. It is the scent of the wares of the street vendors; from freshly squeezed fruit juice to cut watermelon, grilled corn and salsa verde, guacamole and fajitas, tacos and tortillas. It is the sillage of potted geraniums, nasturtium, marigolds, tomato leaf and spearmint, of crates of limes, papaya, lemons and oranges.
