When I travel, I come home with a colour palette and scent for each place I visit – I have memories of remote coves of pink sands in Galapagos, busy coastal seaside towns in the Aegean, Medieval villages at the base of the Carpathian Mountains, cobbled streets of Scotland and the milky clay waters of Mekong Delta. I am able to translate colour palettes and styling arrangements from my travel inspirations through my books. I also like to communicate one of the most important senses, one that transports you back to your globetrotting experiences or makes you dream of future holidays: smell.
With these memories, I have designed a new range of soaps. My 5 latest soaps are inspired directly from the chapters in my latest book Gypsy. All soaps are naturally coloured and pressed and cut into the shape of a Society inc. shield. Pick a place that brings you good memories, or the next one to explore!
Galapagos: A remote cove of pink sands, the shores strewn with sea turtle tracks, sea urchin quills & coral fragments. Dunes behind are speckled with prickly pears and the scent on the air is holy trees, geranium & pine.
Turkey: Coastal towns by the Aegean full of seaside activity; scents of pink grapefruit, sweet orange, clove & coriander from the markets, petit grain & helichrysum, Mediterranean sea salt from the turquoise ocean.
Scotland: A road trip that winds through a landscape of lochs & highlands, grey mist & cobblestone streets, heady with scents of oak moss, petit grain & thyme
Transylvania: Warm, cloudless days, crispy in the morning withe the scent of blood orange, peppermint & birch tar filling medieval villages at the base of Carpathian Mountains, hiding wolves & bears, unchanged for hundreds of years
Indochine: Quiet wooden boats drifting on secret water paths, milky with clay & ochre hues. Scents of sweet orange, clary sage, pine, lavender, cedar wood, lemongrass, & patchouli.
