For all of the dimensions available to look at in the world, colour is one of the most captivating. In my job as a stylist, the 10-colour palettes which I have created have proven to be the best starting point for decorating any space.
I have shared my journey of colour hunting with you all, exploring and sharing the ways in which you can use my palettes in your own space, as well as the inspiration behind them. Now I wish to go deeper into the meaning and inspiration behind the individual colours within these palettes.
Every colour in all of my 10-colour-palettes have been thoughtfully and individually named by my own experiences. Every colour & name that goes with it is unique & has its own story to tell.
Today we have pulled CaravanSerai from our colour-box, which is part of Travellers & Magicians, found in etc.
This palette was based on a trip I did to Uzbekistan & beyond with my Mum, and followed part of the ancient silk route. Caravanseri was a roadside inn where travellers could rest their weary heads & recover from a day’s journey along the Silk Road. The journey, and photographs I took whilst travelling here reflected my surroundings, the beauty within nature & even the textiles I sourced on this trip.
Bring this beautiful, deep green inside your home with a simple, hand painted stripe across the wall to cut your room in half, or try this as a dado and paint from the floor to 1200H! Have some fun and mix caravanserai with attar if rose, desert & nomad to bring brighten up any space!
