As one who is often traveling and adventuring both locally and overseas, I like to visually document discoveries of places to eat, stay, shop & explore as I am constantly drawing on my explorations and referring back to them as inspiration for interior projects and designing new product. I file my travel stories under #thestylistsguidetotheglobe and now that Instagram has the feature to follow hashtags, you can have my online travel guide appear straight to your feed.
Whether you are planning an adventure of your own and are searching for some hot spots to visit or just love to armchair travel, I invite you to follow our online travel guides. Try it out!
One of my favourite places in the world is Byron Bay and I'm constantly tagging under #thestylistsguidetobyronbay. Click on the hashtag or search for it in Instagram, then simply click 'Follow' to have to the posts appear on your feed.
Some of my top Byron haunts you may expect to see:
MCTAVISH SURFBOARDS - This local hang-out is very conducive to perusing the showroom and lingering for a coffee where you will undoubtedly bump into a friend or two. Plus this Saturday 31st March is a great time to checkout McTavish as they are holding an end of season sale complete with live music and other stalls from local Byron brands.
NEWRYBAR MERCHANTS - Housed in an 1890s Queenslander in the hilltop town of Newrybar (a short drive from Byron), this collective of local artisans hosts a florist, leather worker, artists, book dealer, rug trader and my own hardware range.
FOSSIL VINTAGE - As close as an Australian store can get to a European brocante, selling large wooden tables for your hinterland farm, oyster metal buckets, French linen, zinc tubs, industrial lighting and all kind of vintage goodies.
