The Parker Palm Springs

After a hectic 2 weeks working in the arctic conditions of NYC, some much needed R&R found me in Palm Springs.

Many years ago I photographed Jonathan Adler for Marie Claire Lifestyle & became a fan. He is true to his personal style & sense of fun and this is fantastically translated into Le Parker, Palm Springs!

Parker is essentially a thematic wonderland where all things kitsch are styled into cool. Tucked in the midst of outlandish Palm Springs, it is fun and frivolity with a lemon twist of humour. Butterfly chairs circle a fire pit that roars of an evening and a floating fireplace takes centre stage amongst the winding maze of gardens amongst pools and croquet lawns. The wonderland props are placed to discover, with giant doors propped between the hedges, outdoor chess and hammocks for two suspended between palms.

This is a place where the manicured lawns catch daily 5 o’clock shadow and a walk through the grounds stirs a rosemary and citrus scent. This is the wacky, wacky world of Jonathon vignettes reminiscent of a film set, yellow and white striped chairs at the lemonade bar with a spot of boules, where dogs outnumber babies and there are lots of nooks and crannies to find and hide.
