Shop the Look | My Kitchen

I inherited a very plain kitchen, & although the materials used were not to my taste, they provided a great backdrop and I was able to manipulate and layer the space to cater to my cooking needs & lifestyle.

Photography by William Meppem

I first addressed the hardware and layered the space with a hardware story that suited the cupboard sizes & uses as well as being a part of my larger design intent for the space.

With the addition of my new Liebherr fridge, I removed some cupboards to replace them with some magnificent vintage French ones that were on hand at The Society inc shop.

I finished my mini makeover off by designing a central island crafted by my clever husband from salvaged Baltic pine and Blackbutt.

And voilà, a personal tactile kitchen that reflects me, my family & how we like to live!

Summer Stay at The Salty Dog

Summer Stay at The Salty Dog

This year, my dear friend and photographer; William Meppem and I captured the essence of this perfect boathouse, located in Newport, Sydney. The ideal spot to drop your anchor this holiday season.

I have dreamt of a boathouse escape for many years and all of my dreams have come true in a recent visit to a space that captures it all, The Salty Dog. This miniature house provides all of the nuances of boat building within its own minute space. Situated amongst the quintessential Sydney landscape of emerald green water and unique sandstone structures - surrounded by angophora gums.

With the extension of the dinghy & direct entrance to the water, this house evolves into an explorative landscape that extends beyond its petite footprint. If I were to create the ideal boathouse... This would be it.
