With over 25 years industry experience as a stylist & interior designer, SIBELLA COURT has embarked on many magic carpet rides adventuring the world on photo shoots, creating homes and hotels & designing product. After scouring the globe for the perfect sofa that comfortably straddles both residential & hospitality spheres, she decided to design her own. Her checklist included comfort and durability, removable covers that can be washed and had enough ’choose your own adventure’ options for each upholstered piece to feel bespoke to each project. SHIPLEY is a nod to heritage upholstered shapes & age-old master crafts with a modern sensibility. An honest and utilitarian linen slip cover that is machine washable but embodies the elegance of a 19th century parlour piece with the modern comfort & proportions to lay about. Sibella’s love of textiles is celebrated in the curated choice of fabrics to adorn the top swag & cushions that make the piece unique to the owner. A timeless, classic collection that sits as comfortably in a modernist architecturally designed house or Georgian manor with a trio of Irish wolfhounds as family members. MOLMIC is a 30-year old Australian-owned, Victorian based company now run by the second generation of the Molmic family. I have dreamt of a boathouse escape for many years and all of my dreams have come true in a recent visit to a space that captures it all, The Salty Dog. This miniature house provides all of the nuances of boat building within its own minute space. Situated amongst the quintessential Sydney landscape of emerald green water and unique sandstone structures - surrounded by angophora gums.
With the extension of the dinghy & direct entrance to the water, this house evolves into an explorative landscape that extends beyond its petite footprint. If I were to create the ideal boathouse... This would be it.
